What are these new folders in my mailbox?
The new folders that appear in your folder listing are new features that come
with CMAIL. These folders are: Calendar, Contacts, Journal, Notes, and Tasks.
These folders should not be deleted for they are needed for various functions.

Why is email slow or not responsive early in the
morning? Email will slow down starting around 2:00 am each day and
will return to full speed around 5:00am. At this time backups of email
accounts and other maintenance functions take place. These are necessary
functions to help keep the system healthy. Top

How do I access my email? You have a
couple options for accessing your student email account. The first option is to
use the new WebMail interface by going to the web site
https://webmail.cuchicago.edu. Enter your username and then your
password. The second option is via a third party client; Outlook, Outlook
Express, Eudora, etc. You will need to setup an IMAP account in the program
using the following settings:

IMAP: stuimap.cuchicago.edu

SMTP: stuimap.cuchicago.edu

Username: username@cuchicago.edu

Password: Normal Password

Email address: username@cuchicago.edu

What are my options for accessing my email? You have a
couple options for accessing your student email account. The first option is to
use the new WebMail interface by going to the web site

Express, Eudora, etc. If you are running Outlook 2003 you have the option of using the extended features
of our email system call MAPI. To use MAPI please call the CougarNet Helpdesk at x3131 to setup an
appointment to have this configured. If you are using a different client or do not want the extended features
you will need to setup an IMAP account in the program
using the following settings:

What is the size of my mailbox? Faculty and Staff are given
350MB to use. If a user needs more space, a request must be made to the
Director of IT. Top
